The Electoral division of Huon is one of the fifteen electorates or seats in the Tasmanian Legislative Council. It was created in 1999, however similar electorates of this name have existed since 1900 , and members of the Tasmanian upper house for this region appear to have been elected since 1856. It has an area of 6,640 km² since a redistribution in May 2008.
The electorate of Huon includes the local municipalities of Kingborough and the Huon Valley.
Localities with in the boundaries include; Margate, Franklin, Huonville, Bruny Island, Snug, Cygnet and Howden.
The electorate has 24,539 enrolled voters. The current sitting member is independent Paul Harriss.[1] The next election is due in 2014.
